Dr. Ashraf Ali
DIRECTOR
Dr Ashraf Ali graduated from The National University of Singapore with a degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2004. During his tenure in the public sector, he served as the Chief Dental Officer-In-Charge for SINGHEALTH Polyclinics. He joined the private sector in 2007 and went on to become a director of Smilearts Dental Group.
In 2011, Dr Ashraf was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons after completing the requisite examinations. Being passionate about dentistry, he has attended various courses in different parts of the world to upgrade his skills and knowledge. With a special interest in laser dentistry, he has attained proficiency certification with the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr Ashraf also has a special interest in implant dentistry and has more than 15 years of experience in treating implant cases of different complexity levels.
In his free time, Dr Ashraf plays golf, and travels for leisure.
Dr. Edwin Tng Chin Haw
DIRECTOR
Dr Edwin Tng graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Dental Surgeon in 2002.
During his tenure in the public sector, he served in Health Promotion Board, SingHealth Polyclinic and the dental officer-in-charge of Tengah Airbase and SAFTI MI
He co-founded SmileArts Dental Group and become a director in 2006. Dr Edwin Tng has a keen interest in aesthetic, orthodontics and implant dentistry. He believes in continuing education and seeks to upgrade his skills and knowledge locally and overseas.
He is a fellow of the International Congress of Implantologist (ICOI). He is also accredited by the Academy of Laser Dentistry in the use of dental lasers. Dr Tng is an alumnus of the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) of Advanced Dental Studies, Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy (IDEA), Occlusion Connection Las Vegas and Sardinia Training Centre. He also completed the 3 years mini-residency orthodontic programme from EODO and received a diploma in Clinical Orthodontics from BPP University.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading and building Lego and Gundam.
Dr. Jeremy Goh Kah Yee
DIRECTOR
Dr Jeremy Goh graduated from NUS Faculty of Dentistry in 2002. He has a keen interest in Aesthetic and Biomimetic Dentistry, Implant Dentistry and Endodontics.
He received the Certificate of Oral Implantology (COI) from Johann Wolfgang Goethe- Universitat Frankfurt Am Main (University of Frankfurt). He is an accredited member of the Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry, and a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI). He was conferred Fellow of the International College of Dental Surgeons (FICD) for his contributions to both the public and dental fraternity. He is accredited by the Academy of Laser Dentistry in the use of dental lasers.
Dr Goh is an alumnus of the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) of Advanced Dental Studies, Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy (IDEA), Occlusion Connection Las Vegas and Sardinia Training Centre.He is the current president of the College of General Dental Practitioners Singapore (CGDP).
Dr. Kenny Wong Hon Syn
DIRECTOR
Dr. Kenny Wong is a director of SmileArts Dental Studio. He is a General Dental Surgeon with more than 20 years of clinical experience. Upon graduating from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor in Dental Surgeon, Dr Wong further pursued post-graduate education and training. In 2009, he completed the Part 1 exams for the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng). He obtained his Fellowship status in General Stream from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS).
He has further training in implant dentistry and obtained the Certificate in Oral Implantology from the University of Frankfurt. He has also achieved further accreditation as a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantologist (ICOI). Dr Wong has a Masters in Health Administration (MHlthAdmin) from Flinders University and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Positive Psychology.
Dr Wong has served in the government service as a dental officer. He was later appointed dental branch head of Tampines Polyclinic and subsequently Chief Dental Officer in-charge of Singhealth Polyclinics (Dental Division). He has served as an executive council member of the College of General Dental Practitioners Singapore (CGDP) and was the Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Chairman for 3 terms.
Dr Wong is an avid learner and has attended numerous overseas and local conferences, seminars and workshops to further his clinical skills and stay abreast of the latest developments in dentistry.
In his personal time, Dr Wong enjoys running and spending time with family and friends. He is a practitioner of mindfulness meditation and an advocate of positive psychology.
Dr. Jacqueline Ong
ASSOCIATES
Dr Jacqueline Ong graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2011 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
After graduation, she worked at National Healthcare Group Polyclinics, Toa Payoh Polyclinic, where she practised community dentistry for one and a half years and treated patients from young to old. She also spent two and a half years doing an advanced general dentistry posting with a specialized posting in removable prosthodontics at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, working closely with specialists.
Dr Jacqueline Ong practices general family dentistry and is passionate about maintaining and restoring healthy, radiant smiles for her patients. She believes that dentistry is an art as much as a science, and strives to provide holistic dental care for her patients after understanding their needs. A firm believer in continual education and constant upgrading of clinical skills, she attends local and overseas dental conferences regularly. She is currently a member of the Singapore Dental Association (SDA) and served in the Continuing Dental Education committee in the College of General Dental Practitioners (CGDP) from 2012-2021.
During her free time, Dr Jacqueline Ong enjoys spending her time with family and friends, travelling, baking and playing the piano. She also believes in contributing back to society and does dental community work locally and overseas.
Dr. Serena Tan Wan Yi
ASSOCIATES
Dr Serena Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Dentistry with a Bachelors of Dental Dentistry (BDS).
Earlier in her career, she underwent clinical postings at various government institutions such as the National Healthcare Group, National Dental Centre and Health Promotion Board. She also headed dental clinics in the Singapore Armed Forces.
Dr Serena has more than 10 years of experience and specialises in general and aesthetic dentistry. Her scope of work also includes orthodontic treatment such as braces and Invisalign. She maintains a keen interest in continuous professional development and avidly pursues courses to advance her skills.
She believes in taking the time to listen and understand each patient’s concerns, helping them understand their dental condition, and empowering them with skills to improve their oral hygiene. She is patient and also enjoys treating children.
An avid believer of giving back to society, Dr Serena volunteers regularly at MWS Bethany Nursing Home, and as a counsellor in a non profit organisation in Singapore. She is an active member of College of General Dental Practitioners, where she serves as a committee member of the Continuing Dental Education team. In her free time, she enjoys playing netball, tennis and yoga.
Dr. Chong Ker Shin
ASSOCIATES
Dr Chong Ker Shin graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2002. She was in government service from 2002 to 2006, working in the National Healthcare Group Polyclinics, Alexandra Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Dr Chong was with Atria-Pan Dental Group from 2006 to 2009 before returning to National Healthcare Group Polyclinics to head the dental division in Jurong Polyclinic till 2011. She joined SmileArts Dental Studio in end-2011.
Dr Chong was awarded the Fellowship in the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2010. She is accredited by the Academy of Laser Dentistry in the use of dental lasers, and by the Ministry of Health in facial botulinum toxin injections. Dr Chong's scope of work includes aesthetic dentistry, children's dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, periodontics, minor oral surgery and implant dentistry. She is a member of the College of General Dental Practitioners Singapore.
Dr. Luke Cheng
ASSOCIATES
Dr Cheng graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS). Dr Cheng places emphasis in restoring aesthetics and function to his patients' needs with various treatments such as crowns, root canals and implants. He is patient and gentle in his approach, always putting the patients' interests and needs first.
Dr Cheng is also a passionate Christian who is very engaged in church and community activities. He enjoys providing dental services through mission trips and in local nursing homes to those who need dental care.
In his spare time, Dr Cheng enjoys travelling and outdoor activities such as hiking. He also enjoys spending time with his dog and being a chauffeur to his family.
Dr. Tan Oon Yong
ASSOCIATES
Dr Tan Oon Yong received his Bachelor of Dental Science degree with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2013. He has since worked in both Melbourne and Singapore, delivering dental care to a quality standard for his patients.
Dr Tan practises most aspects of general dentistry, with an interest towards restorative tooth conservation and periodontics. He places a strong emphasis on disease prevention and early management of oral health conditions, and continually keeps abreast of new developments in dental research to deliver the most appropriate up-to-date care for patients.
In his free time, he enjoys watch-building, crafts and cooking, and has also taken part in national televised cooking challenges.
Dr. Tan Yu Guang
ASSOCIATES
Dr. Tan Yu Guang graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2015, where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Dental Science (BDSc). In Perth, Dr. Tan served at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia, where he accumulated valuable experience in the suburbs of Crawley, Warwick and Bunbury. Dr. Tan joined the SmileArts team in 2016, where he has been serving the dental needs of the community since.
As a member of the College of General Dental Practitioners (CGDP), Dr. Tan constantly seeks professional development to expand his range of dental services, so as to provide holistic and comprehensive dental treatment. Aside from basic general dentistry, Dr. Tan also routinely performs root canal treatment, wisdom tooth surgeries, implant treatment and prosthodontic treatment such as fabricating dentures, crowns, bridges and veneers.
Being a bubbly and approachable character, Dr. Tan finds great motivation in creating a positive experience for all patients; with a pair of gentle hands and listening ears, he aims to make the dental clinic a less terrifying place, one patient at a time. Outside of work, you may find Dr. Tan serving in church, or enjoying sports such as basketball or football.
